I think S76 didn't work...

Because of the length, I am having a hard time following this thread. I wanted to mention something I just found out so if my recent discovery has already been mentioned, sorry.
According to Ladygouldianfinch.com, the treatment with S76 is 2 times per week for 3 weeks. I thought different. I am going to try again with this proper dosage, starting in the morning to see how my guys do.

Well I just took the time to read EVERY SINGLE post on these 5 pages with interest.
I hope your birds are improving.
I have always used scatt and never had any issues, YET *knock on wood*

I did want to say here that I had a parakeet that the vet placed on antibiotics for gosh had to be like 4 weeks straight , what the vet DIDNT tell us at the time was the antibiotics kill certain GOOD bacteria etc that the bird needs. so they needed other special stuff to replace.

The bird sadly died and the vet told us this info AFTER the fact.
just something ya might wanna check into,

Anyway I wish you and your birds the best and will keep watching this post.

SCATT did the job, air sac mites are history now.

trevorama, that is what I did - 2 days each week for three weeks but a month later the clicking was back so I applied it again directly on their necks for 5 days and no use! I also had to deal with many secondary infections and it was a big pile of mess. If you want peace of mind, even if your birds aren't infected, use SCATT.

I think just like people said in earlier posts, S76 is a good preventative but not for treatment, I'm thinking of using it once a month in their drinking and bathing water to keep things under control.

Now regarding my birds, 2 males are singing their heart out and currently at the end of their molt, the female is in super condition, but the black head male still hasn't recovered.

Like you said Fancie, I am also worried that all these medications he's been on (since Nov) may end up damaging his system but he definitely improved A LOT thanks to Michele here in the forum and other members earlier. I gave him some time to rest last month and used Probiotics in between to build up the good bacteria and now he's back on T-sulfa so we'll see what happens.

Do you think it will help in the water (bathing water I mean)? My problem is (I believe) scaly face mites. Of course they are showing themselves just as I am ready to take the birds out of quarantine. I have a large aviary and it is not possible to treat those birds with Scatt. I read the directions for the S76 but somehow still didn't get it right. I started the S76 today and have written the dates on my calender to make sure I give on the right days. I have 3-week old Gould fledgelings and do not want them to get sick. I will change to the Abba product as soon as I finish this bottle of S76. I too bought the Dr Rob products, and am not impressed. I was expecting to see fabulous results, but I haven't. I'll stick to Bird Care co, which I have used for the last 5 years. I'm glad your birds are doing so much better.

Since you're dealing with scaly mites then definitely use it in the bathing water too! It must be used for 2 days in the drinking/bathing water every week for three consecutive weeks. I think if your problem is not that advanced then it may work well and after all there are people that found it very useful.

As for Dr Rob's products, I only used F-vite cause I thought it's just a vitamin supplement and one of my male goulds was really enjoying it but a week later he started shedding feathers like crazy - it triggered a heavy molt and since I read that some hobbyists faced very long and hard molts that lead to death due to using these products, I got worried and immediately removed F-vite and stopped using the products altogether cause I only have four gouldians and one of them is already sick - there's not much room to experiment, esp since importing birds are illegal here and no breeders available where I live.

Thanks for the info on the Fvite. My birds love it, and I was just going to use it up, but now, I think not. My star finch, who is in a cage inside, was treated with Scatt a few days ago, but I've got everyone else on the new S76 schedule starting today. I don't want things to get out of hand.

Im sorry trevorama, I wasnt refering to what you wrote at all, I was just stating i found it fascinating reading, lol
I dont usually have time to read pages of posts but i made myself do so this time.
In no way did I mean to refer to what you had written.
