I'm so excited about your seed mix! My finches love it and it's so easy to chit! When I sweep out their floor I'm putting it in a bin in the greenhouse to sprout. I don't know if it will mature through the winter since the greenhouse doesn't have heat but since my finches love greens so much I thought I could at least pick what comes up to feed them. Then none will go to waste! Your seeds are the best! One thing I've noticed is after about a week, my finches are much more active. Especially after they eat in the morning. They fly and bounce all over the place! The last test I'm going to do is feed the millet mix to my Parrotlet. I'll let you know. I would think anyone with a small hook bill would benefit!

Your hook bill might like the fresh white proso. I got a small bag from Nancy and my parakeet loves it, will knock through the ABBA seed to eat the fresh proso.

I am kind of jealous reading all these posts of people's finches loving Nancy's fresh seeds. Nancy also generously gave me millet. And these were gorgeous fresh! But my green singer is not going crazy for it. And now that I have put all millet (millet only, including Nancy's browntop) in one feeder, he doesn't even bother to dig through it. He only feeds at the dishes with all non-millet seeds: hemp, flax, canary, herb seeds, weed seeds, flower seeds. So now I know he won't eat millet, no matter how fresh, if there are other seeds around. And if mixed, he will dig through it to find what he wants and waste all that good nutritious millet.
There is a lot of satisfaction in seeing your bird go crazy over a new seed. And I am not getting that with any seed now.

I hate to admit it but after going through my earlier posts and re-reading everything I made mistakes on giving my results, now I am more positive that the seeds my gouldians are eating are the brown tops and not the japanese.

I will ship you samples for your birds to try out. If they don like it...toss it. I, being in the seed business, realize how much we are being taken advantadge of and want to save us all some $$ (believe it or not...what have you). Pm your address and illl ship you some seed for free!!
I so dislike not knowing how to wade thru these waters! I am forum-challenged! I so want to try the seed blend and jap. millet you and cindy are speaking of, but i still haven't posted enough to be able to pm you to try it!! I am so sick of alllll the wasted seed on the ground of my finch flight! Money and seed going hand in hand into the trash! Nancy, as soon as I am cleared here, I will be contacting you, just not soon enough for me...

Merry, Nancy is going to be making up a finch mix soon and will have that available. It is going to based on what everyone's feed back on the forum and through pm's she received.

Yes. I need at least twice as much bird.
I am happy to report I saw my GS eat a few seeds from the millet feeder last night. He prefers grains over oils before bedtime.
Oh, and no wasted seeds!

My seed blend using pellets and seeds from Nancy
For every two cups of Brown Top millet and Japanese Millets I add 1 cup of Germain Foxtail millet, Red millet, White Proso and Zupreem Fruit Blend finch/canary pellets.
Come the cooler/colder months I may add a dish of sunflower chips and a dish of niger separate from the mix.

I got the seed from Nancy and tried it out this weekend
Favorites are Brown Top and Jap Millet. The Red millet mix the birds only seem to be eating the yellow seed in the blend, which I think is German millet? The red is left over..
The canary seed is very interesting, the seeds are quite small.. my birds aren't eating it. They're also not interested in the Nyjer. She sent a couple to sprout but I haven't tried those yet
