Cindy,
I hope everything works out for you. You have been so encouraging you have another breeder on board!! Thank you for explaining hybrid vs mutation. I'm going to enjoy as you suggested. I am blessed I found this board and people like you. Lyn

finchlover1 wrote:Your explanation of determining sexing the babies, then I definately have 2 males and 2 females. Just noticed all 4 have teardrops, if that means anything. Ok, I re read and I have regular CWF male but female does not have teardrops. Is that considered a FF?
hello there!

all the babies are CFWs!

Both parents are cfws!

The female look like she got something extra gene hidden in
her beautiful tear less face 8)
I would say she is a BB CFW!

If you look at her, you can see that she have
small, black markings near her beak.
just like BB females have!

here is a picture of my BB fawn

I noticed that tiny black line on the female, lower area in the feathers at the base of the beak....Vargur, everything I read mentions the CFW female have tears...so that tiny little mark is actually a tiny portion of a tear drop??? So that would make her a CFW then, not a white as we thought prior.

Look at that folks...we learn something new everyday!!!!

well, I just looked at the pic again
and I knew she wasnt tear less for no reason! lol!

ANd I also asked a friend about this
and he confirmed that she was a BB CFW.

the black markings near the beak also
gave up the mutation.
Very pretty combination!

you can also see that she have CFW bars on her tail
on one of the photos!
so, I knew she was a cfw because of that,
she is not just plain white.
