Bengalese Finch with problems with her wing
My beautiful Bengalese finch Betsy has been a lovely addition to my flock since May. After some not so nice exchanges she eventually got along with everyone and is generally a very very happy finch.
But i was a bit puzzled earlier when i saw her wing looking like this... Anyone have any idea why her wing is like this?
Her other wing is perfect all with perfectly formed feathers.

Unfortunately with the smallish picture (and I can't seem to getit any larger) it's hard to see what's happened.
Possibly a fight with one finch grabbing hold of that wing and it's feathers and not letting go? Were there any loose feathers on the floor?
Just thinking of the past history of difficulty in acceptance...
Poor thing

Not sure if these pics will be better but going to try...
Still not the best quality but i can only hold her for so long before my grip decreases due to my cfs so it has to be quick pics, will try and get some more if it would be of any help.
Hmm it hadnt clicked it could be an injury from one of the other birds. One of my zebbies has fledgling youngsters and shes getting tetchy if anyone gets close to them, so i guess it could have been her.
And her good wing..

Is she by any chance currently housed in a un-coated galvanized metal cage? If so - that could possibly be the culprit.
The uncoated galvanized steel can wreak havoc on their feathers especially if they're prone to landing on the sides of the cage or if they're a bit nervous flying around a lot in a new cage.
This is what a galvanized cage did to my blue male within a matter of months - as soon as I saw what was happening and moved the pair into a coated cage his feathers started growing back:

The cage does have coating so im thinking its more than likely a mean spirited zebra finch has got her! Her wing is slowly starting to look better though
