the BHA and BHT are known cancer causing agents in humans and they are not even permitted in human foods...probably shouldn't be in dogs and cat foods either.debbie276 wrote:The original:

While the granola ones seem a bit better ingredient wise I don't feel there would be enough protein or benefit to even try. You'd be much better off with fresh veggies and egg food in my opinion.

Dogs should not be exposed to grapes or raisins they can cause acute renal failure and a condition known as anuria (lack of ability to produce urine.) The cause is unknown but a mycotoxin is suspected. I suppose this is the same reason larger parrots should not have to many of these. Vet have started warning about grapes and dogs after the problem was discovered back in the late 90's.
Our vet warns of grapes and the risks with new puppy patients and dog owners.

Re: Has Anybody Heard Of MilkBones as Treats?
At my grooming and boarding shop I use to post on the bullentin board and tell all of my clients not to feed their dogs raisins and grapes...I had one customer that said his dogs (3 yorkies) loved raisins and that he didn't plan on stopping feeding them.
It is amazing how many people don't know how harmful they are to our pets....no chocolate either!!!!

It is sad, the death and illness caused by toxic foods is very painful and so, so preventable.
