Another Treat Question, Dehyrdrated Peaches?

Post by DanteD716 » Sun Oct 16, 2011 8:04 pm

So, my mom was eating this "al natural" healthy trailmix like stuff. And it has no additives, just peanuts, cashews, and then sunflower seed inside/meat, along with dehydrated peach. Well I took some of the peaches and am wondering if there safe for te zebbies? If they are and they like them I'll chop a couple up and add them to my bird bread recipe. Any other healthy treats I can add to it are greatly appreciated!

Just bear in mind anything that is dehydrated tends to loose some it's nutritional value like Vitamin B1, or thiamine, Vitamin B & C and others. This article should help and it is nicely .....

Nutrition of Dried Fruit vs Fresh Fruit

Fresh is always best....Some of the birds might have a tough time with dried...if you try it I would grind it finely.

Alright, I'll read it now. If I do use it, I'll be sure to make it as small as possible. On a previous link you gave me it said pumpkin is a good choice. I'm going to the pumpkin patch soon. Maybe I can add the pumpking meat (not seeds, I heard they're fatty) on the birdie bread for a halloween treat? Tell me what you think.

I may soak the fruit in water. Maybe mash it and mix it with most eggfood?

You don't! D: They grow like grass here! They're weeds, but the birds love them. Come spring, since they're gone now, I will fill a box and ship them to you and see if your birds like them. Are you allowed to ship plants?
