Exchanged my canary

Post by StevePax » Sat Oct 22, 2011 7:21 pm

I took Oscar the canary back to the Bird Hut today for an exchange. We had him for 22 days with no singing. Wasn't molting, and was definitely settled in here. He chirped quite frequently, just never quite got to singing. So, now we have a new Oscar. I suspect the old one was actually female.

If this one doesn't sing, I'll probably assume it's due to the fact that he lives with a pair of zebras and not that he's a she. So we'll probably keep him regardless of singing at this point.

And the new Oscar took about 20 minutes to start singing. I guess whatever song is playing on the piano now is his favorite. A beautiful song.

Congrats on a singing male. I just got two males (I hope) they are only 6 mos. old so I have my fingers crossed.

Now go back and get the one you returned, and you will have a pair.

LOL! Yeah, I'd have probably got another one and kept the original... which is why I find myself with more cages than I have room for!

Glad that Oscar is singing his little heart out. Canaries have such a beautiful song!! =D>
