Thank you for your help FeatherHarp, but Oat died last night.
I don't know what happened or why. He was in bad shape yesterday morning and when I got home he was just fine hopping around as usual. Then all of a sudden he fell off his perch last night and stayed on the floor. When we woke up this morning he was gone.
I felt so helpless. When I saw him on the floor I didn't know what to do. Poor little guy. I'll miss that cutie.

So sorry for your loss. The down side to having finches is that we lose them all too often. They have such short life spans compared to our other pets. It is always hard.

Lyderbug.....I saw your post title and my heart sank!
I am sorry he didn't make it....what a sad way to begin the day. At least he didn't suffer for a long time...better they go quickly than linger on.

I'm so sorry that Oat didn't get better. It's always so hard to lose them.

Thanks everyone. It is tough owning finches. It's so worth it though. They bring so much happiness to my fiance and I.
When we get a bigger cage I will probably get another male. I'm gonna miss the eggs everywhere hahah.
