I peaked in and the parents had started another clutch....I'll take pictures of the four offspring on Monday or Tuesday...hopefully they will show a bit more color by then.

Re: Zebra ~ Flit's fawn offspring...all different tail bars
The offspring are starting to show some real interesting markings (both parents are fawn, mom split to BB).
The female offspring has been paired with a FF male.
One of the boys caught my eye yesterday, he is fawn, orange cheek patches, hourglass tail bar marking...but now the orange cheek patch is showing black feathering in it, he also shows some black feathers dusted on the top of his head.

his brother, the white around the beak is different...it may indicate BB since the mom is split to BB.

Could he be starting to be Melanistic?
No i dont know..
But the narrow tear mark and the hourglass
tail bars shows he is split for BB.
his brother is very cute!
does he look like this finch?

your boy is adorable...he does a bit but the white goes up more and around the top of the beak near the nostrils. He also has the white edging on his wings. The brother is the one one the right.
