Im new to society finches (I've only had canaries before) and i've noticed that my two societies like to cuddle up and sleep in a little bowl filled with grit which is attached to the cage. When i got them I assumed that societies liked to sleep on a perch, like canaries, but i guess i was wrong
I am not very keen on letting them have babies, and i thought that giving them a nest would encourage the hen to lay eggs. But now im thinking that it might be more comfortable for them to have a nest to sleep in.
What do you think ? Nest or no nest ?

You could if you want, but giving them a nest would mean a much increased likelihood of breeding and eggs. Finches don't need nests to sleep in, though some species prefer it.
That being said, if you wanted you could always toss any eggs that are laid in the nest and eliminate having babies. Its not something I would do, but that's me. I know a lot of people do it.

If you have a male/female pair, they will definitely lay eggs. It is OK to toss some eggs, but you can't go on doing that for long, as the hen will wear herself out just laying more eggs. Better to not give them a nest at all, they will be fine on a perch. Now, if you have two males, whole different story, you can give them a nest for sleeping.

Thank you for your advice

i've now decided that a nest is no good idea. I have a female/male pair so i know that they might have eggs sometime (even though i dont have a nest) but we'll see what happens and how i'll take care of it then.
