There are a few different finches that go by the name 'grassquit' - do you mean the Cuban Melodious?

I have a couple of pairs of Cuban Melodious and I can 100% tell the males (bright yellow around the face with neon black) from the females (much duller and smaller amount of yellow and no black).

Let me know if yours are the same as these. Perhaps you can post pics of yours.

psilocybin6 wrote:I have had them for a number of years now (and have posted some pictures of my pairs here and there on this forum)... Wild-caught pairs are not easy to work with at all, they need large flights to walk-in aviaries, a lot of greenery, live food, and complete privacy; but once you hit 3rd+ generation they are much easier to work with. The main problem with them in Canada is lack of numbers. So pm me if you can ship some heads to Toronto; we need new blood.
I can have them ship from Puerto Rico to Buffalo but i dont think i can't ship to Canada. Have u ever had bird ship to Toronto? You are more than welcome to pick up in Buffalo Iam right off the peace bridge. What is a fair price you think for a pair been a hard of bird to come by?

psilocybin6 wrote:Can this source ship directly to Canada from Puerto Rico? If not, most likely I can get someone (a broker) to meet with you across the border. Send me a pm if you like to share the contact information of your source or if you are able to sell a few heads once you receive the birds.
Prices vary from place to place. A few years ago they were readily available and were roughly the same price as the Cuban Melodious but nowadays they are hard to find and cost twice as much... The last pair I sold was priced at 400 (NLF 9 Generation Male X NFL 10 Generation Female).
he will not ship to canada u would have to send payment frist plus shipping and i can order as many as u like let me know thanks
