That's very kind. We like it here, is very rustic feeling country and we made our place sort of to fit into the environment. The birds are clueless to where they live...lol It was funny though, once we let them be free inside the enclosure at first they were clumby flyers like they never really flew before. After a day or two they are pro flyers! Made me feel kind of sad for the ones that never get out of a small cage. I have a cage inside my enclosure and thye sit on it but not inside. It was what i purchased to move them home.
I added a few more pic, fun ones and dinked a bit with thme on my photoshop. Lil boogers are hard to get a good pic of!!! Will have to make more effort next time but just wanted to show our "nest" and would love to see your's!!!

rkn......Funny you should mention retirement.....my Hubby is retiring April 1st....so we will be there ready to move in April 2nd!! And leave all the finches please...hehe!
Too bad we have to stay in Minnesota...I would love to actually move out to Oregon where I have some family left yet....but at least we get to go visit every couple years or so.
I feel bad you have to move with your wonderful photographic and stained glass talents it seems as if this is the ideal place for you.

Thank you for the compliment Rita - I sure wish I could ship to Podunk, ID! I'm in Canada and it's near impossible to get live material through Customs. But if you know anyone in Canada looking for birds or perennials, you may pass on our name.rkn wrote:Liz your bird selection is amazing! Can you ship them to podunk ID.? If so would like to get some. Do you accept paypal?

caught me online...
the front is a plastic mesh found at Lowell's. Is cheap and easy to use. I had the sides velcored down and the bottom has a couple long plastic sticks to hang it overall.
I am not finding poop build up other then this one small tree. OMG they LOVE this tree! and yes it is poopy looking but heck will replace it if it dies. Is like 10.00 tree found in the local gorcery store.
Other then the tree, their is no build up in the enclosure. I water it 2-3 times per week for the plant's sake and that halps move the poop around and too soak it into the dirt. So far is really easy maintence!
