Re: All Black Finch
Eumo zebra finch males are all black, with a little gray, and have chestnut flanks. I have a photo of my uncles on my thread "Mine & My Uncles Birds" that is all I know.

The only finch that I know of is a jacarini- volatinia jacarinia. They are black with metalic blue sheen hens are all brown. I know another name for them that may ring a bell blue back grassquit

Also, some mannikins are mostly black, but have chestnut or white in them, which makes the black stand out more. Check out www.efinch.com, go to varieties and you can look at different species. They do not have a photo for eumo zebra finches though.
