has anyone thought of cutthroat??? that would explain the cheek patches.. and the spotted feathers! and the beak shape. but i still think it is some sort of hybrid because they are a bit brown

I have done some searching myself and think they are spice babies. They are not Cutthroats because they do not have orange legs but black. This image shows a spice baby which have almost identical natural colors. However, there's a possibility of a hybrid of Spice and Twinspot. I will post pictures again if their color changes :)

they look really green/yellow in your pics to be full spice?

Is it possible for maybe a spice and a saffron to mate?

Or some other yellow/green finch? Like a green finch or something...

Pretty birds though...

There are many spice subspecies, and many hybrids between them all. That can explain this.
