good mineral source Endive

Post by nopEda » Mon Jan 09, 2012 5:04 pm

For a while I used Endive because it's such a great mineral source:

but later switched to a powder that I put in cups on the "ground". From what I looked into at the time though Endive seems to be very unique in having such a high mineral content, and if it really is I'm trying to let people know about it in case it could become helpful in some situations where other mineral sources aren't readily available.

Thanks for the info. I didn't know about the minerals. It's one of my bird's all time favorites. But I wonder what kind did they mean on the link? My bird likes the greens: leafy endive, frisee endive, escarole, but doesn't like radicchio (purple thing) or the white belgium endive (bulb thing). He also likes the seeds, and those chicory seeds.

I always do endive and romaine together. Endive is their favorite.

Mine like endive...I had no idea that it was that high in the minerals and what a great source of vitamin A. Thanks for the information :D
