Re: Maybe, could it be a Phaeo?
this is a "tail" shot of the silver male, next to him is the isabel sibling...not a good shot but thought I would include it. Both have the orange/fawn lacing....since brown is a base color in orange...it seems to show orange but in different light the browns come through.

I took a few pictures of the two offspring and their parents. Both offspring look great and I can't wait to see on how they turn out.

I will. He was my favorite chick. The pair is on eggs again so maybe they'll give another little boy like him. On a posotive note, your boy is beautiful!

Re: Maybe, could it be a Phaeo?
No problem! And thanks, I'll tell him. I really need to get my hands on some isabels or FF. My uncle has a a isabel male with an FF hen on eggs, and then the other pair. Hopefully I can get a baby from each of their clutches to make a pair. I miss my sf/FF

Re: Maybe, could it be a Phaeo?
They are all so pretty! And I think your male chick is the most beautiful of them
I still am not sure what he might be exactly, my isabel males have always had very orange cheeks, his seem a bit lighter. Am I right or is it just the lighting and molting? (great pictures btw ;) )
Also now I suddenly realize, I have one Grey Isabel, he is much darker than yours but he has a similar tail feathers! This dark grey colour. I wonder if that also happens with FF splits.
I am thinking, and that might also apply to his sister, sf FF Fawn Isabel? (or Silver FF Fawn Isabel, I guess that's the same thing)
The female does remind me of this sf FF isabel from Roy's site: http://efinch.com/species/ffxisabelzeb.htm
So that's my theory for now

Re: Maybe, could it be a Phaeo?
Thank you Ameza! He does remind me of the picture on Roy's but he is very light, I don't know if it will darken with a molt. I have only had a dilute happen once and it came from his Grandfather pictures here (FSilver) and grandmother an Isabel.
I think the orange we are seeing in both offspring indicates they are splits.
