Thanks everyone for your replies. I will just need to deal with it for now anyway.

They are definitely all one family, all related to the Mom and Dad in top cage.

They were housed 5 in one cage and 5 in the other, like I have it now.

The guy was feeding them parakeet food!! I bought some fortified seed to give to them, and also millet for them as well.

I have the cage together now and will attemp to catch 3 finches, my first time actually touching one. Yikes, here goes, will be back later.

Don't feel bad Dante, the birds will thank you Bluebonnet for rescuing them....once they are well fed, strong and looking better!

Bluebonnet, you did a good thing...we will help you through it! You will be suprised how good they will look with clean conditions, good foods.

Add the grate egg to to their daily diet for now.

I got the 2 worst plucked ones from the bottom cage in together now in their own flight cage. I don't know who was more stressed, them or me.

So, here is their new cage setup for just these 2, much nicer than the baren one they were in, if I do say so myself.

And here is a sad visual of what they look like now. Hope I can nurse them back to full feather.

very nice job with their new home...It will all be alright!! Deffinatley a heat light. I also use 40 watt bulbs, babies like to be warm.

Thanks KHeather. I'll get something warm rigged up for them. Acutally, I think I'll borrow the heat lamp from the owl/gouldian cage. They'll be fine. The plucked ones need it more.

Thank you. Those 2 in the new cage are sticking pretty close to each other right now. I hope they continue to get along well together.
