Masked Grass Finch

Post by managermania » Sun Jan 29, 2012 11:51 pm

So I don't buy everything I see, I really need to have a ranked wish list for new species that I would like. I am putting it together now.
Here is what I am thinking:
1) Blue Faced Parrot, Forbes or Sea Green
2) Diamond Firetail
3) Masked Grass Finch

Anyone have info on the Masked Grass Finch? Their disposition, etc.

Sorry...I know I am question boy these days. I just appreciate all of the different input, opinions and knowledge. Thx!

Jacqui has them. She is on finchaholics also. I believe her screen name on the forum is Queen_bee. You can send her a pm or message her on finchaholics.

I have 6 masked grass finches that I got last summer. They are awesome little birds. They are peaceful, have a cute song and are really something to look at with their bright yellow bills. I would recommend them for sure!

Right now I am attempting to breed them. They are very difficult to sex. I tried colony breeding, but nothing happened, so I now have what I assume to be a pair set up in a breeding cage. Nest construction is underway, so we'll see what happens!

I think you will be happy with them should you decide to get some.

4 chatty Zebras, 4 Societies,
2 Owl boys and 2 Red Cheeked Cordon Bleus (on some eggs)
and 6 Masked Grass Finches ... so far!
