It takes the chicks a while before they get their adult colors so you have time to remove them once they are eating well on their own... however if you have several clutches fledge at the same time then you won't know who is who. I treat them all from that aviary like they are related. I have 2 other aviaries that have inrelated pairs from each of the aviaries' occupants so I simply pair a male for one aviary to a female in a different aviary for unrealted pairs to sell.
I occassionally buy new bloodlines to add to each of the aviaries also as some of the older goldbreast aren't producing any longer. I still keep the non producing, aging goldbreast as they are my pets and they will be granted to live forever in their aviary homes

hahah that is a nice and happy ending for your GB's. they are amazing birds. so cute and full of energy and life for their size
