I can honestly say nobody on this forum thinks "it's just a little bird". Every life is precious and I'm hoping your little one gets better soon. It could be his ribs are sore or even broken so all he wants to do is sleep and stay still. You are so sweet to hold him. Love is very good medicine! I'll be thinking of you both and looking for an update. Hopefully he is getting plenty of fluids.

ok its been just over 24 hours now since the accident and he is still alive :) lastnight i was worried about him getting cold so i let him sleep on me  he prefers to sleep on me for some reason. im a light sleeper and i stayed awake most of the time to make sure he was alright and warm.
normally in the mornings he is awake before me but not this morning, i had to wake him and give him some kaytee's mix again using the dropper. i think most of you are right, i think he is either bruised or has something broken inside and thats making him not want to fly about as usual. he seems content when he is with me and does allow me to feed him so there is hope. i guess it was lucky it didnt break his back because thats where the box lid landed. m hoping he will get back to his usual self again when he gets better.i must post some updated pics of him here soon as well, its been a while and its nice to see the bird in question.

Bless his little heart. Sounds to me he has an amazingly caring owner who will do all he can for him.

I hope he improves and bounces back soon. He seems to be going in the right direction so [-o< he will be ok.

it is amazing the bond he has with you. Glad he is doing a bit better. If there is soft tissue or a bit of nerve injury it will take him a bit to get strong again. Until then it sounds like he has a soft place to recover!!!!

this morning he seems alot better than before, he seems to be getting like his usual self again :) :) :) :) :) he does still sleep alot but he is chirping from time to time now and he follows me when i leave the room sometimes again. ive noticed when i go to hand feed the other gouldian chick the shafttailbegs for food but when i move the dropper towards the shaft tail he doesnt look up and open his beak like before and im guessing its his neck that hurts. he looks a lot better today and he is eating a bit more than yesterday so he is definatly on the up n up :)
at the moment he is sleeping in the brooder on top of the 10 -11 day old gouldian, when i go to move the shaft tail he chatters his beak moving his head downwards and making a soft growling/purring noise so i have left themtogether. he seems very gentle with the young one and i seen him often moving the baby under him with his beak like he was trying to position it. im keeping a closeeye on them though just in case.

ahhhhhh he is sooooooo much better today :) still not 100% but i can see he is getting over this now and it makes me really happy :)
still nowhere as chirpy as before and still sleeps a lot but there are excellent signs of improvement. i woke up this morning to find him in my bed 'under the covers' lol i wondered what the hell it was
was also nice to see him ruffle his feathers too as he used to do it all the time but stopped after his accident. i think he is going to make it =D>
