That is great news, FeatherHarp! You will really enjoy having Owls. The one suggestion I would make if you want to breed them is to give them some privacy--mine have been very quick to come off the nest.

Sally....thanks for the advice. This pair has just finished raising their young at the breeders so I don't plan to breed them for a few months yet so they can have a good rest. I just want to enjoy them for a while and make sure I am doing a good job of keeping them healthy. Maybe later this summer I will allow them to breed and see how it goes.
I plan to leave the Gouldian pair in the cage but take my 2 Zebra males out and put them in another cage for a week or so until the Owls get settled and comfortable with their new home. The Zebras have never been agressive at all but with some new residents they might cause problems so I just want to be cautious.

Congrats! You are going to love them - they are such funny little guys. Just make sure you see them actually drinking from their water dish in their new cage - I've had problems with my owls not finding their water.....

Hilary...thanks for the heads up on the water. I will be keeping a very close eye on them when I get them home.

I planted some bird seed. A bird came up. Now I don't know what to feed it.
