Re: dry feet???
You have to transition finches to pellets. My avian vet recommended putting a dish of pellet only at night and leave it for a few hours in the morning before adding seeds. Then, gradually reduce the amount of seed given each day and increase the amount of pellets. I have tried mixing pellets with seeds and they pick out the seeds to eat and ignore the pellets. My finches only eat the Le Feber pellets and do not touch the Zupreem. Although, I think it smells great, they don't seem to like that type of pellet.

Re: dry feet???
Ok - since last post I have ran to pet supermarket where they had a small bag of the ZuPreem fruit blend flavor food (has a canary on the front). I have an egg boiling and will add egg food tomorrow. Still will have to go to grocery to get some unsalted sunflower seeds to add to it (the basic mix found on the link you sent me). I also looked up the feeding ratio that should get them changed over to this new food and I will work on getting them to 80% of this with 20% seed (along with egg food and veggies). Whew! Hopefully I will have some nice shiny feet soon! I still wonder, though, why it is only these two birds and not all 4 of them. Oh well! Thanks so much for everyones help!

I grind my pellets up and add the zupreem dust (as my friends and I call it
) to my eggs....start by adding just a little then you can increase the amount you add into your eggfood as they adjust to it. I sprinkle this on finely chopped veggies as well. Then I know they are at least consuming some pellet in their diet for sure!

Just picked up 30 lbs of Zupreem fruit blends!! I swear when I open a new bg all the finches smell it and sound off...they love it, I get the tails up on that one!finchmix22 wrote:You have to transition finches to pellets.
