? on bottom of cage coverage

? on bottom of cage coverage

I know we discussed different things to have at the bottom of the cages but I was wondering if I am not using a grate is it ok to have newspaper at the bottom of my cage? If the birds pick at it, is it harmful? I split a flight cage in half so I don't have a grate for the bottom but I have newspaper there. Is that ok? If not, what should I use?

I use paper no problems, not the shiney it is different ink i think and doesnt absorb well anyway!
