My little Chester passed away today. I have no idea how he managed to drown himself in his treat-cup sized water dish, which is smaller than his body.
I'm going to miss his song, none of my other male Gouldians had his range. Part of me is relieved because I don't think I could have put him to sleep myself... I was waiting and hoping for him to just randomly snap out of it. His short life was lived good. He will be missed!

I'm so sorry. It's hard when birds get sick and there is nothing we can do for them.

So sorry to hear of Chester's passing....
I had never even heard of twirling/stargazing before... I saw your videos and they were absolutely heartbreaking
You are obviously a great bird "mommy"; you did everything you could to make his last days more comfortable and manageable for him. My heart goes out to you.
