zebs, want 2 breed bccfw????

Post by kheather » Wed Apr 25, 2012 7:57 pm

Okay, I have a black cheek hen and a cfw male...what do I need to breed to get bccfw?? Also once you get the color, will their offspring continue on to pass that color if you bred to another bccfw?

Unless your male is /bc and your hen is /cfw you will not get BCCFW. You need two pairs, consisting of one bc and one cfw. You pair offspring to get the BCCFW.

the one on http://zebrafinch.info/colours/default. ... anguage=en

Designer section, select new pair (on the right)
check off BC and check off CFW...it does show the BC CFW...if this is correct pairing the two should work. If they produce BC CFW offspring yes pairing them with another BC CFW will give you BC CFW offspring.

If you pair the CFW to a BC you get both BC and BC CFW offspring. You will either get all BC CFW or you can get a combination of BC and BC CFW young. The BC offspring from the pairing will have lighter gray backs and the BC CFW will look a little more dark on the head when young but it fade out to white with molting. I have tried this twice, I always got a few BC CFW and a few BC in the clutch.

You can try the pairing, and if you want we can try my shipping eggs to you to try to hatch out new blood for a new pairing.

(*ignore the two posts from above, the calculations are flawed...I asked the mods to remove them, this is correct)
