No, it is definitely orange.. Even Dante saw them..
Ok Dante, if she molts them out, i will tell you. I visit them at least once a week and so far she still has orange.

Okay, here's a comparison of what I'd consider orange. (as you can see, yours is just darker gray or beige)

all i know is that Cindy said a little while ago that the flecks of orange that i explained was a split to ob. Lux shows signs of ob, Gus shows signs of ob.

Re: Mutation excitement again
Thank you
I know i have been a pain! Lux shows almost every ob sign except for in the tail feathers. I have been having a weird time with tail feathers, Lolita is split to black breasted for sure but she has mostly normal tail bars, In this pic, the top one is from Lolita. Today i noticed that she has a couple like the bottom middle feather.
And Tahny has normal tail feathers but she has 1 or 2 like the bottom first feather

Re: Mutation excitement again
He has had 6 daughters(no sons haha) all were either normal grey or have splits. Not one was fawn. Maybe if i let him have one more clutch next year maybe, but i am starting to doubt it..
Here was the first clutch all girls, Lux has a thing for female babies i guess!

Re: Mutation excitement again
doesn't explain his unusual markings though. He's not normal, he shows obvious splits-just not producing the babies thought to be produced

Re: Mutation excitement again
Could you pair him with a different female with the mutation you think he has to see what babies you get?

Re: Mutation excitement again
No, i am unable to do that for a couple of different reasons. I am still living with my mother and cannot get any more finches. By time i can move, he will be to old to breed. :/
