Thanks everybody for sharing in my excitement....I find myself thinking about how to decorate the birdroom more than how to decorate and paint the rest of the house...LOL!
For the color of the bird room I am deciding between an off-white/cream color or possibly a soft pale green tone. With the room being small and having a North facing window I want to choose a nice light color to keep the room bright. Especially with 4 black flight cages going in there. They will make things seem darker I imagine. As for cage placement I will wait till I roll them in there and play musical cages until I like the placement. Round and round they go...where they stop nobody knows!
For the flooring I will pick some kind of light color sheet vinyl for easy cleanup. But I don't know which way to go for window treatments. Curtains or mini blinds...that is the dilemma. Maybe one of those sheer fabric washable shower curtains? I am wondering what would work best since I will most likely have a parrot or two of some kind that might be flying around in addition to my finches so I want something bird safe. If anybody has any thoughts or suggestions I am all ears!
Oh....and I even negotiated a nice extra wide shower unit for the bathroom with a low step-in with the reasoning that we may have to fit a wheel chair in there in the future but I am really thinking ahead so I can roll my cages in there to wash them in the Winter if I need to. I don't think Hubby even suspects my motive....hehehe....My Bad!
FinchMix22.....I do plan to keep my white flight cage for the living room area for enjoying some of my finches too. That is one of the down sides of a birdroom...they are away from the living area. But someday I hope to have an enclosed aviary in the living room to keep the seeds and mess contained while enjoying the birds.
