Kaytee Exact Pelleted foods - tried this?
I am wondering if anyone has used both the Zupreen and Kaytee Exact Pelleted foods? If so, how did your finches like each of them and/or what has been your experience feeding them? I see that the Kaytee Exact is made as larger pieces and wonder if my gouldian and cordon blue finches will eat pieces that big or not.

Hi Anne, you only need to submit a post once for it to be posted and viewable to all. I will delete the other four identical posts for you at this time. It helps keep everything simple and easier for everyone if there is just one post. Thanks.

sorry about the multiple posts. It looked like the page was locked up and not posting.

I use the zupreem finch/canary fruit blend pellets, Roudybush Nibbles and Lafebers finch pellets. There are quiet a few posts on the subject. I don't use the Exact...tried it, they did not like it.

Based on what I know, pellets are not that good, and especially for small birds. I do not feed my birds pellets. They get a few pieces as a treat but that's as far as I go with pellets.
Better give them good seed mix and fresh food and skip pellets, which have way too processed ingredients and are also not cheap.

Pellets are fine to give, it provides minerals and vitamins seed is lacking. I did check this with my avian vet and it is fine to add the pellets or serve them to the side in a separate dish to finches. Some breeders of finches serve just pellets. She prefers just a pelleted diet for hookbills.
I raised hookbills on pellets, either Roudybush, Zupreem. I use both plus Lafeber product on my finches and hookbill. Veggies and eggfoods are also served.
