is this blue gouldian male stuck in molt?

Post by ilmillu » Sat Jun 09, 2012 11:33 am

its his first molt his siblings have all grown nice feathers, but this one seems to have stopped like this it lacks some of his chest color, some spots on his face and the point of his tail. He's very active and sings all the time.

here's his pic, couldn't get closer he flies away :P

I agree with Debbie. He'll finish up the next time he goes through a moult. Beautiful Gouldian there! How old is he? =D>

Around 9 months I think. So he needs another year for fully molting?

I've not tried it myself as I only started keeping gouldians this year but I have heard of a product called Feather Fast by Morning Bird that may help birds who are stuck in a slow or unproductive molt.

This may help to get things moving along for your bird.
