Hello all!
I have a female zebra who started growing a large lump in her throat area. i thought it would disappear if i let it be, but now it's been a while and the lump is still there. She is also starting to lose some weight, although she doesnt seem to be growing weak or getting sick. Any thoughts on what this could be?
Thanks!

Hi there, I hope your birdie is ok.
How big is the lump? How long has it been there? They will often not act as if anything is wrong for a long time and by the time they start looking sick, it can be too late.
My Java died from a lump I didn't notice for a while because she wouldn't let me see it and I don't handle them much, but both the first vet I went to see and the avian specialist both said that there are heaps of things that random lumps can be. Some of them fatal, some not a big deal that can be treated but if you really are worried, a local avian specialist (not always easy to find I know!) is by far the best bet for a proper diagnosis. They can be expensive though!!
The usuals like vitamins and warmth are always good in any situation but especially if they is an abnormality of some sort.
Wish I could help more
