Not really much difference on them. They're both from the same family but I think the black caps were a little less nippy. I can't remember for sure though. Looks like I need to renew my mind about the slight differences between the two again.

Re: Green Cheek vs Sun Conure??
yes, Our cockatoo went through 3 homes in his short 5 years so not only was he lonely for his old flock he was very afraid because he had been locked up in a back room for the last year. (the boyfriend didn't like him
.) That's what happens when people don't stop and 'think' and don't do their research. My husband used to raise parrots about a million years ago so he knows how to handle them. Otherwise we wouldn't have taken him. He was naked from plucking and looked a sight but he took to my husband right away. Still we visited him 4 times before we decided we could take him on. My suggestion is to visit the Conure a few times and see how friendly he is. She should be fine with that. you can sit and talk to him quietly and bring some raw in the shell sunflower seeds to him. See if he'll take them through the cage bars. It would be good if he did. It would mean he wasn't terrified of people. Looks like he's in good health and good feather. Get the history if you can. Let us know what you do. Good luck. Oh and yes, black caps are less nippy which is a character trait of Green Cheeks.

Re: Green Cheek vs Sun Conure??
So true, Trish. Several people in my bird club do parrot rescues. Most of the birds they have are ones that people tired of, or paid no attention to, and so they developed behavior problems. People get companion birds because they think it would be fun to have a bird that talks, or does tricks, or whatever, but they don't do their research and realize that the companion birds need LOTS of attention. So their bird develops bad habits, the people blame it on the bird, and now you have a rescue situation.6finchfriends wrote:yes, Our cockatoo went through 3 homes in his short 5 years so not only was he lonely for his old flock he was very afraid because he had been locked up in a back room for the last year. She currently has a few black caps and cockateils needing homes, and is very open and it is needed to come visit the bird before taking it home. I am just not sure. She always has news birds needing homes so I can always wait a while longer to research.6finchfriends wrote:yes, Our cockatoo went through 3 homes in his short 5 years so not only was he lonely for his old flock he was very afraid because he had been locked up in a back room for the last year.
