Bad news about the Java babies unfortunately... but I don't want to say anymore about that, not nice.

So I have just uploaded a short video of Brucie and Cary trying to get into a peanut.

Michael, hope the next batch does better. Have you thought of adding any other species?

That's a big aviary!

My buddy has (and other species too)
- button quail
- quail
- Red Rumps
- Budgies
- Rosellas
- Zebras
- Societies
- Cut Throats
- Javas
- Gouldians

No doubt some others I'm forgetting. I don't know my hook bills particularly well. Living in town, he still had trouble with predation, so he wired the bottom of the entire cage.

It's is lovely!! I love it, thanks for the update, are you adding any other species? I love the tuqs and pheasants. You did a great job.. don't forget about us!! Have you considered adding a pair of normal zebras? They would add some color abd movement.

I have 6 baby Javas at the moment, this is the third batch this season form the one pair. So far only 1 has survived from the previous broods. It looks like the birds know what they are doing this time (as well as me) and so these ones all seem like they will make it. Man are they noisy little fellas.
Will get a video up soon!

Cary (Lady Amherst Pheasant) is laying eggs at the moment. She is 10 at the moment in a nest... if you can call it that.

We have a new Turquoisine! We got a Male as our 2 females were a little down in the dumps (and also strange things were going on between the Tiels and the Turqs... nuff said).

Here are our 3 turqs;

Well adding a male Turq certainly got things humming within a day or so he was mating with both females. The females both now have a nest box each and one has 5 eggs and the other 4... I may have a lot of Turquoisines soon...

We also got a pair of Doves a few days back... we never even thought about getting doves, but there they were looking at us and saying "Take me home" and we couldn't resist. They are a lot more active and interesting that I thought they would be, and very cheap to buy.

Here is a video I took on New Years Eve showing all the inhabitants of the Pheasantasiam one year on from conception.
