Thanks! I placed a nesting box on the side of the cache today, only because I noticed them doin the deed a few times already. They are getting extra love and healthy food as well. No more pairs! These two are more than enough! Lol. Alvin, we've discovered, LOVES bath. He gets right in the dish and proceeds to swim and shake and shimmy in the water. The cutest thing ever! I'll try to get pics next time.

Cindy, I struggled with the decision to put the nest box up. I really wanted a few weeks of getting them used to the new place, and all the new foods and such. I called a breeder here that I've become quite close with over the last few months during my search, (picture the little old lady from Poltergist) lol and she said it would be fine, as long as I kept the fresh fruit, eggs, and calcium blocks available. I also ordered the Higgins Proteen mix. As for hand feeding, I am reading about it. I may be able to pull them at 6 weeks and start socializing them then. Not sure. Theres so much to consider. They love love love strawberries, sweet potato, kale, broccoli, apples, carrots, celery tops, and just about anything I offer them. Shorty is even starting g to come around, comes up to the cage to get a treat, progress. Lola is still feisty but is takin treats too.

Female once they set up nesting may become territorial. If you decide to handfeed if you pull them just prior to the eyes opening you will have tame babies. I do not use a syringe but a bent spoon (sides are bent to feel look like the lower beak of the parent) either way is fine, you have to be comfortable with what ever method you choose.

Glad the are settling in nicely. Mine tore through cuttlebone. Rummy likes hard boiled eggs minus the shell.

Lola loves her eggs, but they have to be put through the food processor. Lol Shorty loves strawberries, and has been trying to coax Lola into the box. There is a calcium block and 2 cuttlebones. They enjoyed the kale today too. I'm so nervous about hand feeding.

SHANTEL!!! What happened to the lady that told me at the bird fair " oh...I dont plan on breeding them... I just want them to have some friends..."??? LOL...just teasing you a little bit... (but on the other hand...did you want me to see about getting you a table at the next bird fair?)... see I told you birds were addicting. Congradulations!

Lol Bill! You called it. I didn't plan on breeding, but it happened, and it was really awesome to see it from the beginning to fully fledged new additions to the flock! Lol even the hubby got into it, and was sad when I rehomed the babies. It's ok, though, it's the circle of life! I will be seeing you at the show Bill! I need one of those nifty little stands you had! Table, maybe next year!
