Katie..do you have a Target store near you, if so call the pharmacist there...most of them carry it. If not a 24 hr Walgreens with a 24 hr pharmacy...it is about $12 for the bottle.
Do you have a lamp in your room or somewhare in the house? A heating pad? You can wrap that around part of the cage. A lamp would be best.

She is sleeping in her sleep nest right now, looks pretty comfortable and is a little bit less puffy now so i think the candle warmer is working as a nice little warmer.
Wish me luck, i hope she makes it overnight

Glad you are home, I was worried when you said you took off on your bike--isn't it dark there? In the morning, call around to see if you can find it. I got mine at a small privately-owned pharmacy, not one of the chains, and the pharmacist was so helpful. The liquid calcium was right there beside the bottles of calcium tablets.

We don't have any small drug stores around
we have two cvs and a walgreens all within a mile and a half of me. if there were a small drug store, it would lose business.
It is quite dark out, but i have a strong bike light and i didn't get ticketed because i got out before 10:00pm
I hope that i can get a ride to a larger store, i doubt Jewel carries it... that's the closest store and it's 3 miles away.

She is still passing stools. her bum is a bit messy but that's normal for any sick bird...It's not like she can't use the bathroom so i guess that's a plus..
Please be ok my darling

Re: Lolita is sick. Please help!
Hi I just read the post
The human grade liquid calcium will work pretty quickly, if you cant get one for birds that is. Small drop 3-4 times per day. My earlier post gives the method. Usually here in Aus it is pretty cheap, actually cheaper than stuff made for birds. lol The best treatment is preferrably to have hens on liquid calcium prior to breeding, but if she has just produced one without mating then that would be pretty hard to guess, timing wise. Hens usually have a problem in either not making a hard enough shell, or an incomplete shell, when calcium deficient. Unfortunately having cuttlebone-grit and hard calcium supplements does not always provide enough calcium in a soluble form to prevent it. Threr is really no other solution to this problem other than the liquid calcium plus heat. Let me know if I can helo further

She's made it through the night, sometime in the middle of the night i turned off the candle warmer (because i have her in a semi enclosed area, it was warm around the whole cage)
I checked on her this morning and turned the warmer back on, she was sleeping not in her sleep nest, but the food dish!
thank you everyone!
