Dad is a light green. (no dark factors)

Mom is a mauve. (two dark factors)

Neither seem to have any dilution, grey wing or spangle. (Unless dad is split)

I know that when combining green and blue you can get yellow face. Neithe are opaline. And they are not pied... (dad is very pretty though)

Green is dominant, so unless Dad is split to blue, all your babies will be green. If he is split to spangle, opaline, lutino and/or albino you can have hens carring one or all of those traits.

Thanks Dante for all the great info.....I have no history from the hen but am getting the info from the breeder of the dad to find out what color his parents are....we will see

The parents of the father are:
Dad - Yellow & Green
Mom - Lutino with red eyes

that means dad is split to ino... You will get

All offspring will be split to blue..

25% Ino/blue females
25% green/blue females
25% green/blue males
25% green/ blue & ino males

it is not hard once you get it broken down. Green is dominant to blue (just like parrotlets) so all chicks will be green unless both parents are blue or split.

Lutino is sex linked, so a male split to lutino can give lutino females, and split males.

Lutino is also yellow based, like a green budgie.
Albinos are white based, like a blue budgie.


Can you get the lineage of his granparents?? If any of his grandparents were blue, you ave the possibility of getting blue chicks and albino females.

Also, any pictures of his parents would be helpful!

Pulled and banded the first 2 yesterday....It was getting a little crowded in the nest with all 5!!
