I personally had good succes with eggbread when I made it when I had all my birds, they ate it all. The zebra hens like the hardboiled egg more, the societies liked eggbread and carrots.

One reason I want to get a dry eggfood mix is because not only can it be stored in the shelf in my birdroom, but I can share it with others.

I followed Debbie's instructions and just mixed the Jiffy mix with 6 eggs, Lafebers finch pellets, wheat germ, nutriberri parakeet balls, crated carrots...added crumbled eggshels as I cracked the eggs.

My daughter called me while I was doing this...she said it REALLY sounds yummy!!!

My husband comes in and noticed I was baking then asked if it was for the birds or him....I think I owe him cornbread minus the extras!!!

If they like it this will be great...no more boiled egg smell in the house!!!

It is baking now!!!

Often lately my days are hectic or things come up...it ould be nice to offer them something that has eggs, veggies, and extra nurishing foods within it.

I always worry about spoilage in the bird room, it is a bit warmer than the rest of the house because of the lights and the afternoon sun.

What I serve eggfood in are these shallow wooden bowls that absord moisture, so the boiled eggs dry fast out in the birdroom. I worried abotu spoiling when I used the plastic treat cups, they ould stay moist.

The bread may be easier because you cut a slice and serve!!

I'm interested about this also. Anything to save a bit more time in the mornings to keep my half asleep/grumpy 1 and 3 going on 13 year olds happy lol.

I agree with Tiffany, looks good!!!

Dayna, let us know what you decide! My uncle use to go in on orders with this canary breeders and buy 10lbs of commercial dried eggfood, and would wet it with water to make it moist for the birds.... If I find away to dry the eggs so it can be stored for long periods of time I will let you know!!
(Ps I know what you mean by 3 going on 13, my cousin is the same way, she is a little diva!)

I can't explain why my birds love the dry crumble egg food but they do. Sometimes I take hard boiled egg smash it then mix it with the crumbles. That might help them get used to the crumble.

Good Luck!

I run the hard boiled eggs through a potato ricer or a garlic press. They kind of look like worms, then I add a little hand feeding formula to dry it out. I don't want to dilute the protein amount so I add nothing else. Served thinly on a plate it will dry out before it goes bad. All my birds love it.
