S76 as avian wormer ?

I recently read that S76 could be used to kill some worms that can be found in birds - but im wondering in which dose this is ?

I have never de-wormed any of my birds, since i don't have access to meds like Worm away, but im thinking that maybe the S76 could do some of the job ?

S76 can help kill worms. The main worm which it can't kill is tape worm. Check out the lady gouldian site for S76 and this will help you understand what it can be used for.

I've checked lady gouldian, and the site said that its used 1 day every month, for outdoor birds, or birds that eat live food!
I have indoor birds though, so im wondering if i really should treat them that often Maybe i should send an e-mail to the owner of ladygouldianfinch.com and ask her

Best if you can ask them, I've never used S76 so it would be wrong for me to state otherwise. I use moxidextin plus and I would does on week and then a second week and I would wait three months for another does, but this is just my way.

If you have indoor birds and don't feed live food, I really wouldn't worry about worms so much. Birds in outdoor aviaries can pick up worms from the soil or wild birds, and birds that eat a lot of live food can be exposed. I personally would not dose them once a month if they are indoors/no live food.

Some people dose S76 (or any other air sac mite medication) every three months, some every six months, some once a year, and some never. A lot depends on your individual situation, what species you keep. Your signature shows you keep Societies, and that is a species that is not as susceptible to air sac mites as Gouldians, so you probably don't need to medicate as much.

Moxydectin stays in their blood stream for 21 days, not sure I would be re-treating only 7 days after a dose.
