So sorry to hear about little Hopper. You did everything you could to help him become a healthy, happy guy. Regardless of his disability we all know what a happy boy he was and how proud of himself he was when his non finch mommy made support legs for him.
Owls, Goulds, European Goldfinch, Red Belly Siskins and Zebs... For now...

I am so sorry to hear that, you worked so hard to save this little one. Hopper was so full of spirit that we were all hoping he would make it. But, I don't know if he would have been able to go on much longer. I have had handicapped birds, but it is one thing to have a bird that is missing toes, or even a leg, but Hopper's inability to stand as well as use his wings almost doomed him. After putting so much of yourself into this effort, you must be especially devastated, but you did more to help this little one than most of us would have done.

thank you all. i am rather sad. he tried so hard, but i guess it was just too much for one little bird.
