Cindy
Congrats on starting your aviary. I'm curious what the smaller section of wood, on the left side frame? There is not a symmetrical section on the right, so I'm wondering what that will be for later? Thanks for posting this as you move through each step. Looks like it will be very nice.

Thank you Deborah. It will be a door on the side for cleaning. There will be a door on the front, in the lower right side panel.

Cleared out the birdroom, redid the visqueen on the walls and floor, got the hardware for the doors, more perches (we are trimming our big trees in the fall so branches will be put up then but for now different size dowels and flat perches will be used. Top and floor and screening to be done this weekend. Making roosting perches.

Finall construction today, hopefully set up tomorrow and then arranging everything inside along with vines, swings then add the birds.

Cindy, if you can and have time, can you post more pics as you go through each step? I was looking forward to seeing the day to day progress. I'm guessing you have put wire/mesh on the 2x4's? What is the visqueen for floors and walls? Can you post a pic of that? Thanks

Sounds great! I love tree branch perches, in my flight I just built, I cut a branch they was branching off into 6-7 smaller branches and drilled it into the sides wall, it look great! Good luck!!

Cindy I am so happy for you and excited that your getting this aviary!
You will not be able to stay away from it. I hope your saving yourself some space for coffee and bird watching.
Will Rummy be allowed in there?

Rummy is fully flighted at the moment and like to fly about to visit the owls who do not seem to mind him. He is not out of the cage unless I am with him, not sure he will go into the room with me...so far his comfort zone is the familyroom. I may add two bourkes. Soon Rummy's wings are getting clipped when we go visit my friend. Last time I clipped his wings he was so grumpy towards me afterwards.

I am setting it up so they might be space for my chair and ottoman.

Not sure if I am adding the penguins to the aviary or keep them in two separate flights. Don't know how they would do with FF, Isabels, fawns, BC BCFW, BF fawns...OB and BB. The penguins are a bigger "herd".
