CFWs-let's get all the Q's answered so you all have peace
I kidding, of course, but I'm going nuts reading so many links and articles that I am so mixed up now I am looking at a clutch of babies and haven't a clue as to what they are. Very simple.
Mom: white with buff tail bars, no teardrops (what does that make her?
Dad: CFW visual.
Babies: all babies are white in body color. Some have a teardrop some don't. All have buff tailfeathers.
what are the babies with no teardrop and buff feather strips?
what are the babies with teardrop and buff feather strips?
Can the parents be splits to white? The mom baffles me. A CFW female would have the teardrops and she's not a white because of the buff tail bars. So what does that make her and what babies will they have?

Plain and simple, all your birds are CFW. The lack of tear drops is due to pied, it removes the teardrops when mixed CFW, it can also removed the orange on a male.

could be tearless cfw (like in efinch.com) http://efinch.com/species/cfwzeb.htm
pied could be the cause or BB.

Long time. My hero! How are you? If the mom is a pied CFW? Is that how you say it, then when the pair (dad normal white CFW with all the markings) mates, doesn't the dad then have to be split to pied as well to get visual chicks without the teardrops?
___________
Can this pair throw off just white chicks? If both parents are split to white, what else could I get, just whites, right? Am I starting to get this?

We are meeting alot here and on my other post. Thanks so much. I just learned more than I really wanted to know right now! lol. My brains just went to liquid and if I tilt my head they are going to spill out of my ears! lol. I've never heard of a tearless cfw. Went to efinch and have been reading my head off. I'm brain dead right now and all the help I'm getting is helping me so much.Vargur wrote: could be tearless cfw (like in efinch.com) http://efinch.com/species/cfwzeb.htm

The more pied you introduce into the generations the more color is removed from offspring.

If the mom is pied then the chicks will be split, which can still remove marking around the head and wings.. I have a pied pair throw a pied CFW, neither were CFW so I am sure it is possible that dad does not need to be split, but he may be split and not showing itlove4finches wrote:Hi Dante!!DanteD716 wrote: Plain and simple, all your birds are CFW.
