Re: Sweet Potatoes
My canaries and javas absolutely LOVE sweet potatoes! It is practically the only thing I've used to "color" my red factor babies. I microwave a medium size sweet potato for 1:33 on the rotating microwave dish, flip it over, then do another 1:33. Let it cool for a few minutes, then slice it. Why 1:33 ? I don't know, but it works.

Re: Sweet Potatoes
Hadn't thought of that. Good idea.
For the first time in 2 mths since I got my finches I have fed all kinds of greens and they eat most, but aways the peppers are gone and the bowl looks to be all but licked clean lol. Yesterday though for the first time they got newly soaked seed from my Birds R Us maintenance mix. They devoured it and left the peppers!

Re: Sweet Potatoes
I tried SP last year for my finches, and they wouldnt even touch it.
Mind you, they were pretty picky eaters back then, and wouldnt eat carrots, or peppers (this year they do)
I may try it again and see if they will eat it. If not I guess my parrotlet and budgie will have a feast!
