Re: Pictures of my Completed Aviary
Thank you Debbie
Thanks Amy, everyone around here (my neighbours) is telling my how lucky they are.
Ahh psilocybin6, I think you may have mistaken the rubber around the floor for duct tape. That is actually rubber stripping used on the bottom of garage doors. I've really had to downsize the picture quality to stay under 25K. I still have to seal off the floor in the walkin end area though, so will probably use some silicone in that area to stcick the stripping down.
Thanks for the encouraging comments. At this time, I'm not getting too deep into breeding but I'm not discouraging nature either.
I appreciate your advice on setting up the aviary for breeding. Will definitely keep that in mind for the future.
A little description of the items used:
The large tray is an oven drip catcher, they are very cheap to buy. The deeper tray comes from M&M's , think it was a shepards pie container. I'm hoping the meal worms wont be able to climb over or out of it. I've left some of the blue film on the plexi to avoid air strikes. I also cut large clear plastic trash bags in half and hung them down over the peg board. Doesn't look so great but I dread the thought of bird dung in all the little pegboard holes. The floor is the shiny ceramatile that you can get at the local hardware store. The rubber stripping also comes from local hardware store. The stain and clear coat were both water based. For anyone interested in the color, it's called Oriental Ginger, got it at Canadian Tire. I'm going to be using newspaper for the floor as I get the paper daily and have lots of it.
Thanks everyone for your comments.
