Zebra finch toe nail turned upside down

my zebra finch Chips toe nail has turned upside down and hes standing on one leg.......what should i do?..............otherwise hes acting normal........ #-o #-o
2 cordon blues, Houdini and Baby Blue Girl
2 society finch, Mop Top and Coco
3 orange cheeks
14 zebra finch, Chipp, The Baby, Olivia, Chase, Buffy, Big Boy, Patches, Ghost, BC, 3 babies in a nest, 2 unnamed females
2 Gold breasted,
1 masked black rump, Mask
2 silverbills, Cinnimon and Spice
1 male betta
3 dogs, Blake, Bella and Brandy

Sounds like he must have gotten it caught and it broke the bone in the toe...not to sure what can be done to correct it. It may be possible to right it and tape it until it heals properly. A vet might be able to assist you with that. Any blood or cuts?

Hi Sandy, this happened to one of ours but he sorted it out himself in the end. We found him standing on one leg and holding his foot out at a funny angle- it looked terrible. Like you we weren't sure what to do so we cranked up the heat and gave him some space- he was back to normal within a few minutes, so he'd obviously got it caught and managed to untwist it on his own. He hasn't had any problems since so I don't think it was broken. Good luck!
