to include where you're from. It gives each other an idea of where you're located if you're looking for a specific species, as well as trading birds, or news on upcoming bird marts.
TIA.

I so agree with you! I am amazed that on several yahoo groups for selling finches, people will post birds for sale, with no indication of where they are located, even though the group moderator has posted that locations are to be given. So you get your hopes up, only to find that they are 1,000 miles away and don't ship.

I think a week after there flegded the can go. i had seperated my and they all have done fine and eat on there own. some i kept longer but they were ready to go as well. Some ppl prefer to keep them till ther 6-8 weeks old so they can learn more from the parents.

That's my thinking as they will be the only ons in their new home. with no one to learn from. I send the little girl pictures of her birds I told her they were in Finch school.  I thought she could under stand that. I would also like to try to sex them as she is getting Siblings. I would like to give her two males or two females.

I was trying to rehome most of my zebra finches in pairs of same sex but, everyone wanted male/female pairs. i told them there will be plenty of babies and a lot of caring will be needed. I even told them that they are very hard to find homes because of there being cheap and in abundnce. At least where i live all the petshops sell them for $7 each.

Don't sell too early...give 'em time to be totally self sufficient especially if they're going somewhere without adult birds to learn from.

I'm not even selling them. I'm giving them away. I have to many birds, so the babies must go, but I want to be sure that they get good homes. I will be taking them to their new home.
