Grit: mixed or not

I have at least 4 different kinds of calcium & grits; In two cages I mixed them all together instead of feeding each kind in a separate little cup. They seem to be eating it fine mixed.

Any thoughts on this? Who mixes? Who does not?

I'm trying to simplify things a bit.

I mix sand and oyster shell. Oyster shell is clearly the favourite. (zebras)

I mix oyster shells, egg shells, charcoal, diatoamceous earth and a pinch of table salt. They take what they need.

I also mix the minerals into one cup, though I don't grind them all together. I like to have them where the birds can select which minerals they prefer and leave the ones they don't need or want. Oystershell grit is always a good one, Abba makes a good mineral mix. I personally am using Living World's Clay-cal, which is bentonite clay. I add a little charcoal, which most of my birds love, powdered trace minerals, and ground eggshells and/or shaved cuttlebone.

Most feed stores carry it, I saw some at Tractor Supply the other day, I'm sure doing a quick web search will give you plenty of places near you. DO NOT use the DE for swimming pools!
I also add bentonite clay when I have it which also is easy to find doing a web search.

I don't measure it just add a bit to the mix so if they want some it's there.
