How Many Finches Will Fit??

Hi all,

My cage is 3ft wide, 2ft high and 1.5ft deep. At the moment, there are 4 wooden perches, fake plants, a couple of swings, cuttlefish, a water bowl and a food bowl.

What is the maximum amount of finches I can keep in a cage of this size? What numbers have people found to keep the Finches happy?

At the moment there is only one Finch in there He was given to me by a cousin...He looks kind of lonely. So I was considering getting some more, any ideas?

What kind do you already have, could make a difference.

Can you post a pic of your finch or tell us what kind you have? As Debbie said, it will make a lot of difference. (Some birds don't mind being a little crowded - societies for example - but others require much more space)

I agree, we need to know the species. I think this cage could house 1-2 pair max. but if we know the species it helps

Also, if somebody could give some advice on ratios between males and females, that would be great.
