this is the one I hadnt told you. The weaver finches did make damage, terrible one (picking up tamarind leaves til they almost completly bold at the upper part of the tree). after weeks of observation I thought I had to give them up. So a few weeks ago I safely trapped them and released them (dont worry, they're local here).bugaboo5 wrote: javansparrow, I was wondering if you have any difficulties with maintaining the plants in your aviary? Do they sustain any damage from the birds? We had a huge tamarind tree in the back of our house growing up. I remember picking the fruit and helping my mother remove the seeds from the pulp for cooking.
now after 2-3 weeks the tamarind regrow their leaves. other finches dont make damage.
other than that usually I'll water them everyday (and fertilize them occasionally). but thinking about the birds inside which some will be brooding theirs in the future, I think Im gonna change the manual watering with maybe one which make less disturbance to the birds, like dripping system maybe. but in the meanwhile I need no worry about it because we're in the middle of the rainy season.
Lol! (for the indonesian term you know). just cant believe my eyes you wrote 'es campur' and 'kopi luwak'.I would love to visit Indonesia someday. One of my friends love Indonesian cuisine so we go to a local Indonesian restaurant every few months. I'm more of a dessert person, so I always order the "Es Campur" after we eat. Believe it or not, they even at Kopi Luwak at the restaurant! I haven't been brave enough to try that yet, but I always think about it when we dine there.
well, at least you've taste indonesian cullinary.

Thank you, Bugaboo.I hope you have a wonderful day. Please do update us on the happenings of your aviary when you have a moment. You have one of the loveliest aviaries I've ever seen. As a gardener myself, I adore those adorable pots you have those plants in, especially the larger trees.
Have a great day!![]()
