Rumble in the Bronx!

Although they are technically passerines, canaries tend to be managed uniquely, so here is a forum just for them!

Rumble in the Bronx!

Post by Zebrafincher » Mon Apr 22, 2013 12:15 am

Soooo.......I finally have put my new Zebra Finch, Beaky in with my other boys (after vet check, medication, mite spray, quarantine for 7 days etc) ! They're all in separate cages, and Kevin, my ancient 11 yr old canary was NOT taking this new whipper snapper very well! I've been hearing "beep beeps" through out the house all week! (which is lovely!). Merlin, my Star Finch has been chattering away to Beaky all week, but seemed a bit surprised to see a new bird! There was a lot of puffing of chests and tails and chirping. Guess they're working out the pecking order! Kevin of course, being the Alpha canary, ignored them both. Its lovely to hear Merl chattering again! He's been very quiet since Fruit died!

I love having birds! Thanks for listening!
