I should also add, they have a vet appointment tonight, so maybe the vet can figure out what they are!
Totally owned by a spoodle called Pepsi, 4 very cute zebra finches (2 fawn females, 1 ??? and 1 white male) and about 60 guppies! And loving every minute of it!

Don't use the Quick Reply feature to make a post, that doesn't allow you to add a photo. Use the POST Reply button, and then after you have typed in your message, you will see an area below that for attachments. This will allow you to browse your computer and upload your photos.Casper wrote: I got a photo of him but I cant figure out how to upload it!
I will have another pass over the weekend!

Here is the bath pic!
I realize it is not very good but it is the best of the lot!
Huge thank you to Sally for the hint.

The Java is a purpley blue colour, the other little bird didn't make it, my husband just called me at work to tell me, he went in to check on them before he left for work and it was on the bottom of the cage!
he picked it up and put it on the heat pad and offered is some millet but when he went back about 5 minutes later and it was gone.
Now we are now focusing on getting the other bird well, it seems much happier and stronger today, we had a public holiday yesterday so I put a bowl of tepid water in for it to bathe in and it really enjoyed that.
We want to worm it, just in case that is why it is so thin but I will talk to the vet about that tonight, i don't want to over burden it's little system.

I was wondering if anyone can help. I rescued 3 baby house finches. Two of them have been returned to the wild but the runt is behind. He is trying to fly but hasn't gotten it down quite yet. He is totally bald on his underbelly. Anyone know why?

So sorry that you lost the little one
You sound like an amazing person who is going overboard for these birds found on the street, so I'm holding thumbs the Java pulls through!!

Re: Found 2 little birds last night, what else can I do for
Update:
Good news I found his mum!
We went to the vet on Friday night and on the notice board was a lost bird notice, I called the lady on Saturday and chatted she didn't think it was her bird because her bird had been gone for almost two weeks, but she said she would take it.
We continued chatting and she mentioned that her bird was missing a toe on his right foot, the same as the bird I found, so she come around with photos and her other bird and sure enough it was hers!
Her well meaning 8 year old had decided to help by cleaning the cages, she took the cage outside to empty the bottom without making a mess on the carpet and dropped the cage he base popped off an the three birds escaped, they recaptured one but the other two were gone!
At least there is a semi happy ending!

Try feeding him mashed hard boiled egg (crush the shell as tiny as possible) with some seed sprinkled on top. The extra protein helps feather growth. Earlier an expert posted that the missing feathers were probably due to lack of nutrients as a hatchling. Trust me...she is an expert. So feel comfortable knowing that this little one needs lots of TLC and extra nutrition to grow. Hopefully over the next few weeks you will see additional feather growth. You can also give him chopped broccoli, carrot, cucumber, etc. All of these healthy foods along with protien from egg food will build strength. From what I understand, growing feathers is hard work. Good luck and keep us posted. What kind of bird is it?
