Re: Help me figure this out, please!!
He had a major improvement, then took a turn for the worse. I have decided after two months of medication, surgery, daily irrigation, etc., to let him go. I am giving him pain meds and hoping that he isn't suffering. His eye is swollen shut an red, he is fluffed up and barely eating. I expect him to go fairly quickly. Thank you for checking in...now I am just trying to figure out how and when to get a new mate for my remaining finch. This has been a really sad ( and expensive) last two months.

So sorry that you are going through this. You are an angel and are both in my prayers. I hope he goes peacefully. Always remember him as he was when he was well. And know that you did everything you could for him, including when to let him go...

Thank you, Ginene! You know, when I first got these birds, I was fascinated by them. I never had any idea that I would grow to love them like I have. When I talk to my friends about it, they almost look at me like I am nuts. Like a goldfish is dying or something. But Julio has a great personality and I really am going to miss him.
